Why You Should Blog For Profits, Ladies.
4 years ago I was 16 1/2 years old, just entered Tertiary education accompanied with a damaged self-esteem, weight issues and dead broke, I decided to start a blog. I heard that we could earn some “commissions” out of a blog so there we go.
It was called http://rockprincesswrath.blogspot.com (someone else took over the URL) . I was living two worlds almost like having split personalities. I was a dead introvert in the offline world but a total extrovert on my blog.
Which was the real me? *Shrugs* I was at the age where I was having identity crisis. I was blogging about issues like “Pre-marital sex”, “Politics” and things that would boost my ego like My ever adventure of scoring As and topping my cohort.

But that didn’t repair my self-esteem at all. I still looked myself in the mirror everyday and the voices in my head whispered “You’re FAT”, “You’re UGLY” and “You’re hopeless”.
That didn’t made me less broke.
That didn’t bring me more money.
What was my purpose to blog in the first place?
To make money.
Did I make money?
No.
What did I gain?
Being more demotivated than I was already am!
Do you feel that your blog is NOT giving you what you WANT?
Are you off tangent on your blog?
Did you lose your direction and purpose?
Yes?
Then read on as I am give you a headstart so that you do not make the same mistakes I did.
Frustrated as hell, I went to school one morning and asked my lecturer about Google Adwords and the prospects of making money online. My other classmates thought I was dumb and that I was deluded that I could make money and build an empire online. I just rolled my eyes and told them to leave me alone. My lecturer was sitting opposite me and the conversation goes -
Diana: Dr Alvin, what’s google adwords? What’s adsense? Can you really make $$$ out of it?
Dr Alvin: Yes you can. However what’s your niche, Di? What’s your product or service?
Diana: Uhmm…haven’t thought of it. However I’ve a blog.
Dr Alvin: Oh great! Good start. That’s how you found out about Google Ads?
Diana: Yeah… I want and need to make $$$.
Dr Alvin: Think about what others want and need and create a product or service. Visit SiteSell for a start. Play with it and tell me how it goes. Then we’ll discuss again after you’ve thought abt something.
Diana: Thanks Dr Alvin!

The next moment I began visiting sitesell and read more about Google Adwords and Adsense. The irony was I visited sitesell and got distracted. I didn’t even spend more than 20 seconds on sitesell. Instead I was on a part-time personal trainer’s site and enquired about my weight issues and absorbed more about google adwords. Never visited sitesell eversince.
Without knowing that few months later at 17 years old, I would start an offline Health, Fitness and Personal development business using internet marketing strategies! I was introduced to Jay Abraham, learnt direct response marketing, salescopy and then I moved on to Clayton Makepeace, Rich Schefren, Mark Joyner, Fitness Millionaires cum Internet Marketers Ryan Lee, Sean Greeley, Pat Nacerato and Jim Labadie.
I was absorbing everything I could from all the Internet Gurus above like a sponge and totally ignored about Blogging!
My successful offline business which made me $10 000 in 1 month of business, grew to $30 000 the next month and in no time it grew to $300 000 ++ in revenue (90% being purely profits) in just 6 months. These offline business lead me to purchase my first car at 18 years old and a new apartment at 19 years old.
What did I do?
I used the power of salescopy, direct response marketing, opt-in forms, referral marketing, testimonials traditional way of marketing like placing namecards and brochures at Health and Fitness Fairs and of course Google Adwords.
Guess where most of our clients came from?
1) Google Ads 2) Referral Marketing
I asked all my clients, approximately 700 of them -
What made you fill up the enquiry form (opt-in form)?
1) Your “Story” (Which in marketer’s term, the Salescopy.)
However when I first dabbled in google adwords for my Health, Fitness and Personal Development business, it was the first fitness company in Singapore to use this marketing tool. Even the mega gyms like California fitness, Planet Fitness and Fitness First were’nt bidding on coming up top listings.
Sooner, my competitors both the mega gyms and the private ones followed suit and used google ads as part of their marketing campaign. What started from $10 a day ($300 a month) became thousands ($3000) a month for me! It was an expensive avenue of marketing in the long run.
I have always been an advocate of cost effective and alternative marketing. I feel that rather than chalking up millions and millions of branding awareness, big MNC companies ought to maximise thier marketing strategies/campaigns with a much lower budget.
Why would you spend $1 000 000 to attract attention of your market when you can use less than $10 000 to do so and still get the same or more profits out of your marketing efforts?
Does it make any sense? :S
The Birth Of Blogging
So I began on my quest on searching for alternative marketing strategies and came across Rich Schefren’s Attention Age Doctrine regarding Web 2.0 Marketing. It talks about Attention Age - grabbing attention like Paris Hilton, being Social on the internet and building relationships with your market.
I began looking into having a blog for my business. I started recording videos, learning SEO, Social Media Marketing Strategies and opened up accounts on social sites like Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn and MyBlogLog and incorporate it on my fitness blog.
I gave Google Ads a halt for a few months and was surprised that my website rank increased to top 10. top 5 then top 3 on first page and few more places on page 2 and 3 in less than a month! Of course, conversion rate increased too!
And guess how much the strategies I used cost?
OMG! NOTHING! Except for the minimal cost for web hosting, domain and email marketing software.
However you can always outsource your marketing initiatives at really low cost too but let’s leave that for another day.
Anyway, it worked so well for my Health, Fitness And Personal Development business (fusioning internet marketing strategies with my offline business) that I implemented the same strategies on my next business - SexyFemaleMarketing.
Look at the MASSIVE INCREASE in statistics of this blog you’re reading right now -
With SexyFemaleMarketing, I discovered that women truly have the unfair female advantage to accelerate their marketing to the next level by effectively using your womanly’s charm and natural people-magnet characteristics to capture and retain your market’s attention.
How?
- By being a voice to your market
- By being a face to your market
- By being a Real-Life experience to your market
- By being a relate-able figure to your market
For a start ladies, it’s a really good idea to have a blog.
They key is to use a Blog as a
1) Tool of building life-long relationships with your market
2) Tool for list building
3) Tool of communication between you and your market
4) Tool of rich, valuable and free content for the most part
NOT as a tool for hard selling or blog content which only screams about your products/services.
Content is KING.
There is no benefit for your market to gain when all you talk about are your products/services. Truth of matter is people HATE being pushed to buy a product/service. People HATE it when the information they want are not readily available even though they are fully aware that nothing comes FREE.
Drive More Traffic To Your Website
You must blog valuable content to your market. Write about things that your market/prospects could implement immediately and see fast results. Write about solutions to your market’s problems.
Wouldn’t this drive your market back to your site and anticipating for more?
Wouldn’t this increase trust and credibility factor your market sees in you?
When people love your blog, the tendency for them to recommend and share your website is higher. Thus in turn brings more 1) Exposure and 2) Traffic to your site which inevitably could positively bring more 3) PROFITS.
Spread the word baby! Blogs create massive amount of sharing!
Always give your market what they WANT not what you think they need.
It’s like a game of Reverse Psychology.
You give people what they want FREE, they would unknowingly or knowingly be obligated to reciprocate by buying your products/services.
I know you may have qualms. You may ask -
“What do I sell if I give all the solutions, How-Tos bla bla FREE?”
Make MORE Extra Money

Well, selling something is limited to your creativity and beliefs ladies. Your blog content would tend to be a summarised version or sneak preview to solutions to your market’s problems. It may even be the “Whats” rather than the “How-Tos”. It may also be recommendations, your personal opinions and analysis.
With all that you’re writing, did you truly describe in great details How your market could solve their problems? Do you think by reading your blog posts, the information is sufficient for OPTIMAL results?
Of course, whatever valuable information would give your market some results but honestly, can a blog guarantee OPTIMAL results?
Obviously NO! You have to look and CARE for your market beyond a blog. Go the extra mile and be dedicated to your market by coming out with great investments products/services to buy which would HELP them.
Thus you have so many ways to create something useful to sell to your market which would deliver optimal results. You can compile in great details your solutions and make them into home-study courses, create short bite sized videos, write Ebooks or Physical books and have it published and sold, set up a membership sites, give 1 to 1 or group coaching programes to those interested or even hold paid teleseminars. It can be a low ticket product/service or high ticket product/service.
There’s enough opportunities for you to sell and profit from your market.
Meet More GirlFriends, Create More Business Opportunities

Think bigger than the space of a blog and product creation. Think about increasing your business network, making friends and getting to know people on a deeper personal level. A blog would get you noticed and would attract other women entrepreneurs who wants to do business ventures with you too.
The sky is the limit.
Creates Positioning In Your Industry, Be An Expert, Build A Fan-Base

Blogging builds credibility and engaging fans from very diversed background. They would not only love your writing but also have a positive association with you. This simply means that everytime they need information related to what you share or anyone they interact with needs related information, you would be the first person who comes to your fan’s mind! When you share and generously provide content to your market, they would see you as the “go-to” person.
For example: When people want to drink soda/carbonated drink, they would most commonly think “Coke (Coca Cola)” rather than Root Beer, Sprite or 7UP.
You would be the trusted source of information thus positioning you as an expert in your industry. When you’re an expert, your market would buy your product/services.
People do business with you because they like you, know you and trust you. Having a blog It allows you to show off your expertise in a subject which in turn builds credibility of you and your business.
It’s positive branding awareness minus the MILLIONS $$$$$$$!
Be Your Own PR Voice
Stop wasting your money on PR companies when you can DIY. PR companies tend to be too formal and people gets tense with things being too formal. Your market would want to feel comfortable and at ease with you. Thus blog in a more conventional style to connect with your market and increase your readership.
What more you get to save thousands from the PR company and get a new pair of shoes!
There are gazillions of reasons why you should blog, ladies. However I’ve highlighted the important points in this blog post which would benefit you the most. Feel free to comment and share other reasons, fears of not starting a blog and any questions at all regarding starting a blog.
Do you think having a blog is enough to drive traffic to your site?
Like a house, you need furnitures to make your house more ATTRACTIVE, more CHARMING and makes people want to stay in longer.
Next up I’ll share with you one way you can start furnishing your blog.
